Shh! Don't tell Anthro. Lately I've been fantasizing about another store.
I have a major crush on a Danish housewares line called House Doctor, which I discovered while browsing one of my favorite design blogs, Decor8.
The vibrant colors, whimsical prints, vintagey details . . . swoon. The Doctor is in, and I'm due for a checkup.
Perhaps even more charming than House Doctor's products is its styling. How delightful is this office tableau? It so beautifully merges the modern furnishings (the Kartell chair, the minimalist table) with the retro, feminine accessories. I have the Ghost Chair in crystal, but I am totally lusting after the smoke-colored one in this photo.
Check out this rustic, yet whimsical picnic setup. The purple lemonade dispenser is so, so lovely. Frosty beverage, anyone?

Naturally, in my alternative fantasy kitchen, I line my open shelves with vintage wallpaper. And I don't waste precious counter space on food; I'd rather use it to display my trove of candy-colored accessories!
Back to reality: Apparently, the House Doctor line is only available in Europe. I can't seem to find a U.S. retailer.
So for now, Anthro remains my one and only. Love the one you're with and all that.
