Happiness IS chic!
When I was on Newbury St. for my haircut yesterday, I happened to park right outside of the Jonathan Adler store. And since I had the full $2 on the meter, I figured I might as well drop in to gawk at all the fun things I can't afford.

I developed a minor crush on a tres adorable little squirrel. Alas, it was pretty spendy, so my love was unrequited.
I settled instead for some bright and cheerful tea towels. Aren't they stunning in their new home?
Jonathan Adler is one of those designers whose aesthetic is so definite that it doesn't go with everyone's style or taste. While I love Adler's whimsy and exuberance, I don't think my husband would be so psyched about "love/hate" apothecary jars or a shoe candleholder (though he might have a Jim and Pam lovefest with this pillow). So, in the interest of family harmony, I won't be Adlerizing our home anytime soon. But a pop of whimsy in the kitchen is ok, right?
Do you and your spouse or partner share similar aesthetics? How do you compromise on home decor?

Mark and I are pretty on par with our likes and dislikes which is lucky. But most of all I just wanted to comment on how happy those towels hanging in your kitchen made me. They are pretttttyyy :) Good buy!
I love the towels. Micah and I are also on par with our likes and dislikes.
The squirrel ring box is so amusing and adorable! But $120 bucks can buy a lot of other things...darn!
we usually have the same taste although there are definitely some things that Sach is just not down with. we usually mostly bicker over the cost of things though and not the design.
i love the towels! i want some new red ones for our kitchen.
